Because of its fast feathering and favourable growth rate, it is a favourite breed of poultry farmers and small-scale poultry farmers. Its pullets are good egg producers and its cockerels can be slaughtered from 7 weeks of age. By 10 weeks of age, the cockerel can weigh over 2,5 kg.
